Dancing with the Dinos: Sarah & Graham’s Austin Museum Wedding

Sarah and Graham’s wedding at the Texas Science & Natural History Museum on April 11, 2026 was incredibly special from the very beginning.

When I first met the two at Cosmic Coffee for our initial consultation, I had a feeling their wedding day would be joyful, unique, and very fun and vibrant (and spoiler alert: it absolutely was!) Sarah and Graham met in college while working together at the gym and built a friendship long before they ever started dating. There’s something so special about couples who begin as friends first. You can immediately sense the ease between them, how naturally they work together, and how deep their connection is.

On the wedding day itself, the weather forecast called for storms (very typical for Texas in April), and we ultimately decided to activate the rain plan. Ironically, the adjusted layout ended up feeling even more beautiful and intimate than the original plan. Despite a ceremony flip, weather pivots, and a few behind-the-scenes hiccups throughout the day, everything flowed seamlessly, which is a true testament to an incredible vendor team working together behind the scenes so the couple and their guests could remain fully present and simply enjoy the celebration.

The overall design and venue choice reflected Sarah and Graham perfectly: playful, warm, and full of personality. The couple chose the Texas Science & Natural History Museum because they wanted something a little more unique - a space that matched their quirkiness and allowed guests to fully experience something a bit different and unexpected together. Between exploring the exhibits during cocktail hour, walking down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme song, and later dancing with the dinos, the museum ended up being the perfect fit for them.

The day was made even more meaningful by the fact that Sarah and Graham’s longtime friend from college, Elizabeth, designed the florals for the wedding. Against the museum’s charming architecture, the design came to life beautifully. The bridesmaids wore varying shades of green while the florals incorporated layered greens, burgundy, and white blooms with playful movement and texture woven throughout. To complete the look, Graham wore a burgundy tuxedo, which pulled everything together so wonderfully.

After a delicious buffet dinner by PEJ Catering, guests shared heartfelt toasts before the dance floor officially opened - and this group truly brought the energy. Guests danced beneath the dinosaurs, formed a conga line, surprised everyone with giant inflatable cat faces, and at one point, someone even did the worm across the museum floor. It was one of the fullest, most energetic dance floors I’ve seen in a long time, and DJ David kept the energy high all evening long.

Sarah and Graham’s wedding was such a beautiful reminder that when a couple is fully present and genuinely having fun, their guests feel it too. The joy throughout the evening was contagious. Even by the time the grand exit arrived, the energy was still high and guests were lingering, not quite ready for the celebration to end.

Thank you to an incredible vendor team for helping bring Sarah and Graham’s incredible wedding day to life.
