Hill Country Wedding Inspiration: A Texas Wildflower Styled Shoot at The Wish Well House

Recently, I had the opportunity to bring a Texas Wildflower editorial shoot to life alongside an incredibly talented creative team. Lucia of Rooted Floral Design wanted to capture the beauty of Texas wildflowers while they were still in peak bloom, and Lynne of Lynne Reznick Photography - who had just relocated from New England - was looking to showcase a more elevated style of photography in the Texas Hill Country.

Since our aesthetics aligned so naturally, they brought me on board (with less than two weeks before production!) to help bring the vision to life. Even with a full schedule, I jumped at the opportunity - there’s something really special and fun about collaborating creatively with new vendors, and I was especially excited to build relationships with both Lucia and Lynne through this project.

In true planner fashion, I immediately created a planning spreadsheet and mapped out a production timeline. From there, I began sourcing the remaining vendor team - securing a venue, model, hair and makeup, rentals, and more - to bring the vision to life.

As we got closer to the shoot, I felt strongly about incorporating a tablescape to elevate the overall design. We quickly sourced tabletop rentals, linens, and custom menu cards to complete the look. With the florals leaning light, airy, and organic (thanks to the wildflowers), and the photographer wanting a more modern, elevated feel, I knew the tablescape needed contrast and depth.

My initial vision was a rich, dark linen add dimension and depth to the design - especially against the light-filled setting at The Wish Well House. While we weren’t able to source the exact linen I had in mind in the correct size, we ultimately selected a deep brown that still brought in that sense of warmth and dimension.

On the day of the shoot, it was (of course) raining - but we didn’t let that slow us down. If anything, the moody weather added an extra layer of depth and romance to the overall vision.

The ceremony florals were stunning - organic, textural, and full of Texas wildflower charm. The tablescape came together beautifully with delicate white porcelain plates, wildflower arrangements in ceramic garden pots, soft candlelight, and a patterned napkin that added just the right amount of detail. It popped against the darker linen and the light coming through from the large windows at Wish Well House.

Our bride looked incredible in a simple, editorial draped gown, paired with one of the most unique and ethereal wired bouquets I’ve ever seen. Set against the backdrop of The Wish Well House, every detail came together just so in the most dreamy way.

Styled shoots like this are one of my favorite things about being a wedding planner/designer. They push me to think differently and more creatively, collaborate closely, and adapt quickly when things don’t go exactly as planned (which, as we all know, is often the case with weddings too).

With a strong vendor team, a clear vision, and a willingness to stay flexible, magic is possible. I’m so proud of how this Texas Wildflower editorial came together, and I’m already looking forward to the next one.

If you’re a couple getting married in the Texas Hill Country and want this same energy to bringing your wedding vision come to life, I’d love to work with you. Get in touch today! :)

Thank you to an amazing vendor team on colloborating on this styled shoot!
