Organic + Textured Wedding at Wild Roots | Austin Wedding Planner Styled Shoot
Wild Roots in Lockhart, Texas, is one of my favorite wedding venues near Austin - and recently, I had the absolute joy of being part of a styled shoot there that truly captured everything I love about wedding design: organic textures, layered details, and effortless beauty.
As an Austin wedding planner, I’m drawn to venues that feel natural, unique and intentional - spaces that invite guests to slow down, connect, and celebrate love in a meaningful way. Wild Roots is exactly that kind of place. It’s a place where you and your guests can truly savor the wedding experience and enjoy each other’s company vs a more formal and traditional wedding venue.
A Perfectly Imperfect Planning Process
True to form, the planning was a little looser than expected (the original photographer had to bow out last minute!), but the day came together in that perfectly imperfect way that always feels the most authentic.
The shoot’s theme was natural, simple, and romantic, allowing the venue itself to be the focal point. Wild Roots wanted to showcase its new indoor/outdoor space, The Pearl, which became the heart of our design vision - and it is STUNNING.
Why I Love Wild Roots
Wild Roots is unlike any other Hill Country wedding venue I’ve been to. It’s tucked away in Lockhart, just outside Austin, and offers this incredible blend of open space, rustic character, unique accommodations, thoughtful design and LOTS of nature.
A photographer friend first told me to check it out, knowing I love more low-key, nature-centered venues that prioritize connection over formality. The indoor-outdoor addition aka The Pearl makes it ideal for couples who want flexibility - whether you’re hosting an intimate gathering, something a little larger, or just need an indoor space in case weather is unpredictable (as can be in Texas!)
Designing the Tablescape
I was brought in to help design the tablescape, and the vision came together so effortlessly. The florist and I collaborated to create something that felt organic, layered, and imperfectly perfect - just as nature intended :)
We used a lightly textured off-white linen, simple white china with vintage details, and gold utensils paired with a printed napkin folded in an organic, relaxed way. The look came together with a moss runner, vases filled with grasses, cactus, and white tulips, and tall candlesticks for just the right amount of romance and glow.
I especially loved our minimal use of flowers - because I truly believe wedding design doesn’t have to rely on big floral installations to be beautiful. This shoot is proof of that!
The Result
The shoot turned out even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Despite the rain, every detail came together in a way that felt effortless and true to the spirit of Wild Roots.
If you’re searching for wedding venues near Austin, Texas, or looking for an Austin wedding planner who values connection, texture, and authenticity - I’d love to help you create a wedding that feels true to you.
Whether it’s a Wild Roots celebration or another hidden-gem venue in the Hill Country, I’m here to bring your vision to life - imperfectly and beautifully.
